Welcome to the home page of the Alberg 35 User Group, celebrating our 29th year online. (Est. 1997) This makes us one of the older sites on the "World Wide Web"!
Welcome Back!
As you can see, there have been a few more changes to the site in the past month. Back end software has gone through some significant updates. At the same time, the front-end templates have had to be updated because the old ones no longer functioned with the new software. There are still a few features I'm not fully satisfied with, but I'll be getting to these in the coming weeks and months. It's early spring in the northeastern US, so my Alberg 35 has been calling me to begin her commissioning for another season. The steering system is all pulled apart while I replace a 30-year-old autopilot with a below-deck unit, so I have my share of boat-yoga awaiting me.
As the web site changes are implemented, I'd love to hear from you to see how you like them and where I might do better.
Website Purpose and Mission
The purpose of this web site is to be an information clearing house for current and former Pearson Alberg 35 owners to share stories about their boats and the adventures they have while sailing them. Having acquired mine in 1996, I am always interested in learning more about the boat, as well as in meeting other owners and to hear stories about their boats.
If you own (have owned / are owned by) an Alberg 35 and would like to become a member of the Alberg 35 User Group, please register by clicking on the "Create an account..." link to the left. Membership is free. (I'd rather spend money on my boat, too!) To my knowledge, the A35 User Group is the only owners' association for this magnificent vessel.
Whether you are an Alberg 35 owner or not, please feel free to browse around and look in all of the corners of the site. While there is some model-specific information here, there is also a great deal of knowledge that is generic to the ownership of (or possession by) a "Good Old Boat." If there is a topic missing, please drop me a line and I'll see what I can do to include an article on the subject. Most of all, enjoy the site. Welcome aboard!
